Wilton Fondant and gumpaste class. Comprehensive 2 day weekend course February 21st/22nd 10am-4.30pm daily $160 per person.
In this course you'll cover everything you need to get started with fondant cakes and gumpaste flowers, from your Wilton trained instructor.

  • Prepare and color gum paste and fondant
  • Cover a cake with fondant
  • Create different types of bows and flowers, including the calla lily, rose and carnation
  • Design and complete a cake with the shapes and flowers from the course
You will receive a comprehensive tool kit at your first lesson, however you will need to provide your own icings (gumpaste and fondant) and cake for final presentation cake. A list of requirements is available on request.

Ruffle Ombre cake Thursday 5th March 12 noon - 3pm - $90 per person. Learn how to make this lovely ruffle cake using just one style of cutter for both the flower and the ruffles. Cake Decorating Class with Joanne Tan of Scrumptious Saturday March 21st 9am-6pm $145.00
·       How to torte a cake, cover with ganache and cover with fondant icing to get sharp clean edges
·       Give you an introduction to figurine and character making
·       How to make beautiful roses without cutters and molds, and how to dust them for extra realistic effect
·       How to use stencils as well as techniques using other various cutters and molds

You will need to bring with you:
Your lunch
Cake no bigger than 9 inches in diameter. Your cake needs to be dense enough to support ganache and fondant – a chocolate mud cake is great,
  Ganache (recipe and method of ganache available under documents tab on booking site)
You will need a pallet knife, a paring knife or some other small sharp knife and a smoother and a 9inch cake card – available from Kiwicakes, all other equipment will be provided. Not necessary but if you have at home, can you please bring- a lazy suzy and a rolling pin.  Click here to book
